Wallace and his cast of eleven gently poke fun at Henry David Thoreau by
reenacting the events that led up to Thoreau's first expedition to the Maine
wilderness -- a trip that would become the basis for Thoreau's The Maine
Woods. In Tourist Season, we find Thoreau dickering with a used wagon
salesman, searching for an Indian Guide by placing a Help Wanted ad in
the Boston Globe, and receiving advice from a faction designer, among many
other previously unknown moments from his expedition. Haven't read
Thoreau's works? Don't worry. You don't need to know Henry David Thoreau to
enjoy this album. All you need is a sense of humor and a CD player. And if
you don't have a CD player, buy this album anyway and go get yourself a CD
player.
